About Public Works

The Borough of Hellertown Public Works Department maintains all of the Borough roads, facilities and Borough property. Public Works plows Borough roads in winter and maintains the roads in spring, summer & fall by repairing, paving, clearing vegetation and roads and storm drains.  Public Works plows and maintains approximately 20.68 miles of Borough owned roads and approximately 3.58 miles of PennDot owned roads (Main, Easton, Walnut, Cherry) We offer a street sweeping, leaf collection and tree trimming program.  
 

The Department of Public Works is staffed by 5 full-time employees public works employees, 2 park employees and 3 sanitation employees under the direction of the Mr. Tom Henshaw and the supervision of the Crew Leader. 9 of the 10 employees are Class A Commercial Driver Licensed (CDL) operators and are subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
